This valley borders with Khumbu region to the East, the Helambu region to the West and the arid Tibetan Plateau to the North This isolated high valley "Rolwaling" known simply as "the grave" by the indigenous Sherpa's because of its location -deep down between the steep ice-giants of t he Khumbu region.The Rolwaling trek is one of the strenuous treks that take you in the wilderness of Nepal. Rolwaling region offers the trekkers splendid views of the Mt. Everest, Lang tang, Jugal Himal and Mt. Gauri Shanker.This trek takes you on an interesting passage wherein you will come across pristine glaciers, high passes and snow fed lakes. You will get the opportunity for an intimate encounter of the Tamang and Sherpa communities living in this region. Trekking in rolwaling follow the course of the river Tamakoshi on the way to Simi gaon adds an exciting element to your trekking. In this trail the glacier lake Tsho-Rolpo offers you a lifetime of experience. Detailed Itinerary (18 days)

Rolwaling Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport.
Upon your arrival our representative transfers you to hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu on breakfast basis.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu (1350m.) to Dolakha (1660m.) via Lamosangu (750m.) and Charikot (1980m.) by bus.
Day 03: Drive from Dolakha to Shigati (950m.) via Piguti (920m.) takes about three and half hours.
The trails pass through gravel road crossing the different villages of mixed community. You have to cross the several streams and jungles with varieties of orchid, rhodendron and other natural vegetation. Stay overnight in tented camp. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 04: Trek from Shigati to Jagat (1440m.) takes about seven hours.
You trek through normal flat land along the side of the river. You pass through rice terraced. There are small villages on your way which are inhabited by mixed community. Several times, you cross the jungles covered by orchid, few rhododendron trees and wild vegetation. Now you cross a suspension bridge to reach Jagat, a small town resided by people of mixed culture. Stay overnight in tented camp. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 05: Trek from Jagat to Simigaon (2020m.) takes about seven and half hours. The first part of your trails follows normally flat path, then it passes through the jungle. At several places you cross through suspension bridges. There are numerous villages on your way. You can find small teashops and local shops at some of the places. You steeply climb up to Simigaon, a village inhabited by Buddhist and few Hindus. Stay overnight in tented camp. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 06: Trek from Simigaon to Daldung La (3976m.) takes about seven hours.
On the route you come across the Sherpa villages. The uphill trek covers regions with varieties of plants and Rhododendron trees. After the uphill trek you will now come across paths through which you will enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. Stay overnight in tented camp. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 07: Trek from Daldung La to Beding (3690m.) takes about seven and half hours.
now ascends uphill through different varieties of plants and Rhododendron trees. You trek over the suspension bridges over the deep gorges in few places making the trek even more enchanting. You finally reach Beding which is a big Sherpa village. Stay overnight in tented camp. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 08: Rest day at Beding for acclimatization.
You can hike in and around for acclimatization and have panoramic views of mountains like Mt. Gauri Shanker, Tibetan mountains of the Tibetan boarder. Stay overnight in tented camp. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 09: Trek from Beding to Na (4180m.) takes about four hours.
This day you can explore the upper slopes of the valley for Snow Partridge or a visit to the nearby glacier lake. The trek path slightly ascends along the river bank. The place is an open path with fresh air and the charming sound of the river. You can have the panoramic view of the mountains as the trek moves forward. You will also come across the Sherpa village having their own specialties. Stay overnight in tented camp. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 10: Rest Day at Na for preparation for Ramdung Go (5930m.).
Day 11: Trek from Na to Tso Rolpa Lake (4540m.)
Day 12: Trek Tso Rolpa to Trakarding Glacier (4800m.)
Day 13: Trek from Trakarding Glacier to Tashi Lapcha Pedi Camp (5755m.)
Day 14: Climb from Tashi Lapcha Pedi to Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m.) to Tashi Cape.
Day 15: Trek from Tashi Cape to Thyomgbo (4350m.) Today you will walk across the glacier.
Day 16: Trek Thyomgbo to Thame (3820m.) Early morning you will trek down to Thame.
Day 17: from Thame to Namche Bazaar (3440m.)
Day 18: from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m.) takes about six hours.
Day 19: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu .
Day 20: Departure from Nepal.
Our support team will take you to the airport for your flight home. Or if you prefer to stay longer you can go for short tours such as game drive at National parks, rafting, Tibet tours, etc.
